Jammu, Feb 15: Farooq Abdullah, leader of the National Conference, dealt another blow to the INDIA bloc by announcing that his party will independently contest the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.

Additionally, he hinted at the possibility of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls coinciding with the Lok Sabha elections.

During a press conference, Farooq Abdullah stated, “As far as seat sharing is concerned, NC will contest alone and there’s no doubt about it.”

Responding to Abdullah’s statement, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh mentioned ongoing discussions, acknowledging that each party has its limitations.

He noted that the National Conference and PDP have been part of the INDIA bloc and are likely to remain so.

Earlier this month, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann declared that the AAP would not form an alliance with the Congress in the state.
