Itanagar, March 20: Former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has declared his candidacy for the Arunachal West Lok Sabha seat, pitting him against incumbent Kiren Rijiju of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Tuki’s entry into the electoral arena marks a significant development in Arunachal Pradesh’s political landscape, given his previous tenure as Chief Minister and the Congress party’s bid to regain influence in the region.

Meanwhile, Kiren Rijiju, a prominent BJP leader and the current Union Minister of Law and Justice, has been representing the Arunachal West constituency since 2004.
