Ayodhya, Jan 18: In preparation for the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has dispatched a high-level team to tackle potential cyber threats.

The joint team comprises officials from MHA’s Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITy), Intelligence Bureau (IB), Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), and cyber experts.

This proactive measure follows alerts from the MHA’s cyber security wing cautioning citizens about malicious mobile applications distributed via WhatsApp, related to VIP entry to the Ayodhya temple.

The cyber security team is vigilant against potential threats and cybercriminal activities leading up to the significant event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the global anticipation for the historic Ram Temple consecration ceremony and commenced an 11-day ‘anusthan’ (special ritual) ahead of the inauguration.

In addition to PM Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other dignitaries will attend the ceremony.

The guest list includes thousands of seers from across the country, along with families of the laborers who contributed to the construction of the Ram Temple.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has invited over 7,000 people, including Bollywood celebrities, cricketers, and industrialists.

The ceremony holds significant cultural and religious importance, with the foundation stone for the Ram Temple laid by PM Modi on August 5, 2020.

As the event approaches, the comprehensive team is focused on ensuring cyber resilience and safeguarding against potential cyber threats during this historic occasion.
