Weather Forecast, May 13: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), thunderstorms are anticipated on Monday, with light to moderate rainfall expected to persist until Tuesday in the southern districts of West Bengal.
Following Tuesday, temperatures could increase by 2-4 degrees Celsius.
A yellow alert has been issued by the IMD for thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds, with speeds reaching 30-40 kmph, across most districts on Monday.
In Kolkata on Sunday, the daytime maximum temperature reached 32.7 degrees Celsius, with humidity peaking at 93 percent.
The sky remained mostly cloudy. Additionally, an orange alert was issued for thunderstorms, rain, and lightning in portions of North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, West Burdwan, East Burdwan, Birbhum, Murshidabad, and Nadia.

In other parts of southern Bengal, Jhargram recorded a maximum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius, while temperatures in Bankura, Sriniketan, Burdwan, Asansol, and Barrackpore ranged from 31 to 34 degrees Celsius on May 11.
On the northern side, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, and North Dinajpur districts may experience light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds throughout the week.
An orange alert has been issued for gusty winds, with speeds reaching 40-50 kmph, in various locations.
