New Delhi, Dec 09: India reported 148 new COVID-19 cases in a single day, bringing the total number of infections to 4.50 crore, as per the latest data from the Union Health Ministry updated on December 9.

The active cases have risen to 808, while the death toll stands at 5,33,306. The data, updated at 8 am, also revealed that 4,44,68,775 people have recovered from the disease, contributing to a national recovery rate of 98.81 percent.

The case fatality rate in the country is recorded at 1.19 percent. The ongoing vaccination efforts continue to make progress, with a total of 220.67 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered across the nation, as reported by the ministry’s website.
