Imphal, November 25: State election co-in charge of Manipur, Ashok Singhal who is also the Minister of Assam arrived at the Ukhrul district of Manipur on Wednesday.

The visiting BJP leader is here to attend the Bharatiya Janata Party joint organizational meeting cum mass enrollment campaign.

In a new political development ahead of the ensuing state general elections, as many as 70 congresses (INC) and NPF party leaders, senior party functionaries, and workers from 44 Ukhrul Mandal and 45-Chingai Mandal have officially joined the BJP fold.

According to Michael Shaiza, BJP Manipur state co-in charge of political programs and meeting more than 70 congress (INC) and NPF leaders, senior party functionaries, and workers from 44 Ukhrul Mandal and 45-Chingai Mandal have officially joined BJP – the biggest and the largest political party in the world and the ruling political party of India and Manipur today at Town Hall Ukhrul in the presence of Shri. Ashok Singhal, Cabinet Minister of Assam cum Election Co-Incharge Manipur and CH Chitananda Singh, Vice- President, BJP Manipur state also Ukhrul district Incharge, district and Mandal leaders along with the aspiring candidates of 44 Ukhrul, 45 Chingai, and 43 Phungyar constituencies.

Earlier, the visiting BJP leader Ashok Singhal also the co-in charge of the 2022 Manipur state election, and district in-charge Chidananda met the district party leaders and BJP intending candidates of 44-Ukhrul assembly constituency namely Somatai Shaiza, Ngakuimiza Asai, Mark Luithing; 45-Chingai AC candidates MK. Preshow Himray, Ningam Chamroy, Khashim Ruivah, and Phungyar Kendra intending candidates Hopingson Shimray, and Somi Awungshi at the party district office,  exhorted the district party leaders and candidates to focus on party unity.

“Unity could bring better results, and it is the key to holistic development and a stepping stone towards nuance progress, and strengthen the party. We could accomplish all things if we had unity,” Ashok reiterated.

BJP is not just a political party but it is a party that stands for development; a party that works for the well-being and development of the people.

Coming together is a beginning; joining hands together and working in unison is a sign of progress.

“In the interest of one candidate, the unity of party should not be broken but all should work in close tandem with cooperation and strengthen the party,” Ashok added while stressing the essence of unity.

In his speech, BJP State Vice President Chidananda make a clarion call to elect one MLA’s each from the three constituencies of Ukhrul, Chingai, and Phungyar.

The program was attended by CH Chindananda Singh, vice president BJP Manipur state, Thothing Kashung president BJP Ukhrul district, Wungtam Zimik vice president BJP Ukhrul district, Michael Shaiza, BJP Manipur state co-in charge of political programs and meeting; intending BJP candidates of 44 Ukhrul, 45 Chingai, and 43 Phungyar assembly constituencies; BJP 45 and 44 Mandal president Bejoy Shatsang, Longyao, 44 Ukhrul Mandal vice president RW Timothy, Pamreishang, party workers, and various morchas of the party. The program was jointly organized by BJP 44-Ukhrul and 45-Chingai Mandal.
