Imphal, June 19: An Indian Army soldier was injured in an incident of unprovoked firing in Imphal West last night. Miscreants initiated firing from Kanto Sabal towards Chingmang village, leading to the unfortunate incident. In response, the Army Columns exercised controlled retaliatory fire, taking into consideration the presence of villagers in the vicinity.

As a result of the incident, one Army soldier sustained bullet injuries and was promptly evacuated to the Military Hospital Leimakhong for medical attention. Fortunately, the soldier’s condition is reported to be stable, providing some relief amidst the tense situation.

In order to ensure the safety of the area and address the escalating tensions, additional columns have been deployed in the region. Joint operations are currently underway to maintain control and restore peace.
