However, it’s important to note that the Dearness Relief mentioned in these orders will be put on hold if pensioners or family pensioners are employed, re-employed under the State/Central Government, or permanently absorbed in the State’s or Central Government’s Company, Corporation, Undertaking, or Autonomous Body.

The suspension will be lifted after the conclusion of such employment or re-employment.

For practical purposes, payments related to Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief, involving fractions of 50 paise and above, will be rounded off to the next higher rupee, while fractions less than 50 paise will be ignored.

The financial allocation for the increased Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief will be debited to the respective heads of accounts from which employees receive their salaries, and pensioners or family pension holders receive their pensions.

This adjustment reflects the government’s commitment to addressing the economic aspects of its workforce and retirees in line with the prevailing cost of living.

The announcement of this hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) /Dearness Relief showcases the Meghalaya government’s dedication to ensuring the financial well-being of its employees and pensioners amid changing economic conditions.

This move aims to provide relief and support to those dependent on government salaries and pensions, recognizing the ongoing economic challenges faced by individuals and families.
