Sonitpur, June 11: In a brief seismic event, an earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale struck the Sonitpur district of Assam on Sunday, at 11:35 AM. The tremor, with its epicenter located at latitude 26.72 and longitude 92.47, occurred at a shallow depth of 5 kilometers.
