Guwahati, May 06: UNICEF India has appointed popular Assamese singer Nahid Afrin as one of its Ambassadors, joining hands with Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan and three others.

This announcement marks UNICEF India’s 75th year of partnership with India, signifying its commitment to furthering the rights and well-being of children across the nation.

Kareena Kapoor Khan, an iconic figure in Indian cinema, was appointed as UNICEF India’s National Ambassador on May 4.

In her role, Khan will advocate for every child’s right to early childhood development, health, education, and gender equality.

Her longstanding commitment to social causes, including girls’ education, gender equality, and child welfare, makes her a valuable asset to UNICEF’s mission.

Joining Khan as Ambassadors are Assam’s beloved singer Nahid Afrin and three others.
