Weather Update, June 12: Amid the gradual advancement of the southwest monsoon, most parts of Odisha are expected to experience hot and humid weather over the next three days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD’s midday bulletin from the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar indicates that thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph may occur in several districts.
These districts include Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati. A yellow warning has been issued for these areas.
Heavy rainfall is anticipated in one or two locations within Koraput and Malkangiri districts.
Additionally, heatwave conditions may prevail in isolated areas of Balangir, Nuapada, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Balasore, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj districts during this period.

Hot and humid weather is also expected in one or two places across Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
