New Delhi, Dec 09: According to data released by the US-based consultancy firm ‘Morning Consult,’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi has secured his position as the world’s most popular leader, boasting an impressive 76 percent approval rating. This recognition places him at the forefront, surpassing leaders from various nations.

Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador earned the second spot on the list, obtaining a commendable approval rating of 66 percent. Alain Berset, the President of the Swiss Confederation, secured the third position with a respectable 58 percent approval rating.

In contrast, US President Joe Biden held the eighth spot with a 37 percent approval rating, while Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala received the lowest approval rating at 16 percent. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s approval rating stood at 25 percent.

Examining disapproval ratings, Prime Minister Modi’s count was relatively low at 18 percent, highlighting widespread approval. Mexico’s President Obrador, while earning a significant approval rating, had a disapproval rating of 29 percent.

Morning Consult compiled these latest approval ratings based on data collected from November 29 to December 5, 2023. The recognition of Prime Minister Modi’s leadership garnered praise from leaders of his political party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who emphasized the international endorsement of “Modi ki guarantee” and “Modi’s magic.”
