New Delhi, Feb 06: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his wishes for a swift recovery to Britain’s King Charles III, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer.

In a message shared on social media platform X, PM Modi expressed his solidarity with the people of India in wishing King Charles III good health amid his health challenges.

Buckingham Palace released a statement on Monday, revealing that the 75-year-old monarch had been diagnosed with cancer after surgery for benign prostate enlargement.

The surgery took place at The London Clinic last month, with the benign condition identified on January 17.

Despite his diagnosis, King Charles III has commenced treatment and remains optimistic about his recovery.

However, doctors have advised him to temporarily curtail public engagements to focus on his health.

While undergoing treatment, King Charles will continue to fulfill state responsibilities and manage official paperwork. Both Prince William and Prince Henry were personally informed about their father’s diagnosis, with Prince William maintaining regular communication with him.

Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson also conveyed his wishes for King Charles’s speedy recovery, emphasizing the nation’s support for the monarch during this challenging time.
