Modi G-20

New Delhi, Sept 07: As New Delhi welcomes heads of government and foreign dignitaries for the G-20 summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid down a series of “do’s and don’ts” for his Cabinet Ministers to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. These directives aim to prioritize the convenience and efficiency of visiting dignitaries during their stay in the Indian capital.

Utilizing the G-20 Shuttle Service

Foremost among the Prime Minister’s directives is the requirement for Ministers to utilize the G-20 shuttle service as their mode of transportation to the summit venue, Bharat Mandapam. Instead of relying on their official vehicles, Ministers are encouraged to take advantage of the shuttle service, which has been organized to streamline transportation logistics and mitigate traffic congestion in the capital during the summit.

Downloading the G-20 India Mobile App

Additionally, Ministers have been instructed to download the G-20 India mobile app, which offers a valuable translation feature capable of translating languages spoken by various delegates from different countries. This feature is designed to facilitate effective communication and engagement with international participants during the summit. The mobile app boasts instant translation capabilities encompassing all Indian languages and those of G-20 member nations.

Ministers-in-Waiting for World Leaders

Several members of Prime Minister Modi’s Cabinet are expected to serve as Ministers-in-Waiting for world leaders who have already begun arriving for the summit. This role involves welcoming and assisting visiting dignitaries during their stay in India, ensuring that their needs and requirements are met promptly and efficiently.

Importance of the G-20 Summit for India

During an informal interaction before a meeting of the Union Cabinet, which lasted nearly one hour, Ministers were briefed on the significance of the G-20 Summit for India and its global image. The event, scheduled for September 9 and 10, represents a critical diplomatic opportunity for India to showcase its role as a responsible and capable host on the international stage.

A Responsible Global Host

As the event unfolds, the world will closely observe India’s hosting capabilities and its role in shaping global priorities for a better future.
