Sikkim vote

1. Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has tabled a vote on account in the assembly for April to September 2024, totaling Rs 6,073.25 crore.
2. The vote on account comprises Rs 4,802.90 crore on the revenue account and Rs 1,270.35 crore on the capital account to address diverse state government expenses during this period.
3. The assembly is set to discuss and vote on the presented budget on Saturday, as confirmed by Speaker Arun Kumar Upreti.


Gangtok, March 02: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has presented a vote on account in the assembly from April to September 2024, amounting to Rs 6,073.25 crore.

The vote on account includes Rs 4,802.90 crore on the revenue account and Rs 1,270.35 crore on the capital account, aiming to cover various expenditures of the state government during the specified period.

Speaker Arun Kumar Upreti announced that discussions and voting on the presented vote account will occur on Saturday.

In addition, the Chief Minister tabled the second supplementary demand for grants, totaling Rs 134.79 crore, to address additional expenditures for the fiscal year 2023-24.

The supplementary demand for grants was passed by voice vote.

During the legislative session, Education Minister Kunga Nima Lepcha introduced two bills for the establishment of self-financed private universities: the Sikkim Pannadhay University Bill, 2024, and the Nirmala Devi University Bill, 2024.

Discussions and voting on these bills are scheduled to take place on Saturday as well.
