3. No joint candidacy; parties are to contest separately in the forthcoming Sikkim elections.


Gangtok, March 23: The much-anticipated pre-poll alliance between the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the forthcoming Sikkim elections has been officially ruled out, confirmed by BJP Spokesperson Passang Sherpa.

BJP President DR Thapa declared that the party has opted to participate in the elections independently.

The state BJP team is slated to return to Sikkim today, intending to field candidates for all Assembly seats as well as the sole Lok Sabha seat.

Thapa further disclosed that the BJP’s roster of candidates will be unveiled tonight, with the remaining names set to be announced tomorrow.

Upon their return to Sikkim, Thapa aims to provide a clear explanation regarding the failure to materialize the alliance.
