The mimicry incident, which has garnered attention and criticism, prompted Prime Minister Modi to call Jagdeep Dhankhar and express concerns over the insults directed at him over the past two decades.

Banerjee asserted that he had not made any derogatory remarks either in the Rajya Sabha or the Lok Sabha, emphasizing that it was a simulated parliamentary scenario.

Expressing his helplessness over Dhankhar’s reaction, Banerjee questioned whether such behavior was exhibited in the Rajya Sabha.

He emphasized that he never intended to harm anyone, especially considering Dhankhar’s seniority in their shared profession, and highlighted the professional ethos of avoiding harm to others.

The controversy surrounding Banerjee’s mimicry has sparked a larger discussion about the boundaries of parliamentary conduct and the use of satire or mimicry in political settings.

The incident has drawn attention not only from political figures but also from President Draupadi Murmu, further fueling the debate on the appropriateness of such actions in the political arena.
