Agartala, March 09: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha announced on Saturday that the India-Bangladesh Maitri Setu, situated in the Sabroom Sub-division of Tripura’s South District, is set to be operationalized soon.

Dr. Saha praised the rapid pace of development in Tripura under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

He made these remarks during a program in Sabroom, where PM Modi virtually inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth Rs 8,534.02 Crores.

Highlighting PM Modi’s focus on Northeast development through the Act East Policy, Dr. Saha mentioned the introduction of the HIRA Model and the substantial investment in Tripura.

He noted that PM Modi’s initiatives have transformed the region’s political landscape since 2018.

Dr. Saha expressed anticipation for the operationalization of the Maitri Setu, which is poised to establish Tripura as the gateway to Southeast Asia.

He emphasized the significance of the Sabroom Integrated Check Post (ICP) as a vital connection point to the Chittagong port, facilitating trade and connectivity.

Acknowledging PM Modi’s efforts towards Tripura’s overall development, Dr. Saha expressed gratitude for his leadership and dedication.

He lauded PM Modi’s vision for propelling the nation forward and credited him for enabling transformative projects in Tripura.
