Tripura bombs

Agartala, Nov 04: Security was tightened throughout the Sepahijala district of Tripura following the recovery of two crude bombs, hours after a clash between ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress activists which left three injured.

The bombs, recovered at Bishalgarh’s Rautkhola village have been defused by the bomb squad officials.

“The bombs have been observed mendacity at the roadside. These have been country-made bombs and we’ve already defused them. Our research is on,” a senior police professional stated.

Police stated 3 individuals have been injured all through the conflict that passed off between the BJP and Congress at Rautkhola on Wednesday.

The clash occurred when Congress activists were setting up party flags in the area. While the police tried to control the situation, bricks and stones were hurled at them.

Soon after the incident, the local administration imposed restrictions on public movement under Section 144 CrPC, however, it was lifted on Friday morning.

Four individuals have been arrested for the alleged involvement withinside the incident.

“We took a suo moto case towards 17 individuals. We arrested 4 and forwarded them to the court. They have been despatched to judicial custody for 2 weeks,” the police professional stated.

Reacting to it, the chief of the competition and previous leader minister Manik Sarkar stated that the saffron party is losing its ground ahead of the 2023 assembly polls and out of fear, they are trying to restrain the democratic rights of the opposition and people.

“What do they (BJP) need to intend through those assaults – simplest ruling party offices can be set up and no opposition party can open their offices? If anyone thinks that these attacks will be confined to CPM, then it will be wrong. We need to protest against this unitedly,” said Sarkar.

BJP, on the opposite hand, claimed their party workers have been now no longer worried withinside the conflict.

BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharya stated, “It is apparent from his (Manik Sarkar) feedback that his party and Congress proportion a mystery understanding. Our party workers have been now no longer worried withinside the conflict instead they have been assaulted by the Congress people.”
