Shillong, May 04: To tackle the prevalent water scarcity plaguing every corner of the Tura Municipality area and encourage responsible water usage, the District Magistrate of West Garo Hills, Tura, has invoked Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Under this directive, all car wash services within the Tura Municipality are restricted to Mondays and Thursdays exclusively. Moreover, car wash centers are prohibited from utilizing bore wells for their operations.
Residents are strongly encouraged to embrace water conservation measures both at home and in their communities, especially during periods of water scarcity. Additionally, individuals are urged to refrain from car washing activities to alleviate strain on water reserves.

Effective immediately upon issuance, this directive remains in force until May 15, 2024.
