Gangtok, Jan 27: During the second Foundation Day celebrations of the Citizen Action Party (CAP) in Sikkim, Ganesh Kumar Rai was declared the Chief Minister candidate for the upcoming elections, marking a significant development for the party.

The announcement positions CAP to challenge the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Party (SKM) in the 2024 elections.

CAP, led by Ganesh Rai, was officially launched in January 2023 with a commitment to bring positive change and address the concerns of the people of Sikkim.

In his inaugural address, Rai criticized the SKM, accusing them of corruption and prioritizing the interests of their leaders over public service.

He emphasized CAP’s commitment to keeping its promises without making excuses, declaring that the party aims to form the government in 2024.
