Additionally, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also slated to visit Assam on April 7 and 8, during which he will address three rallies.

Itanagar, April 05: Longding Police in Arunachal Pradesh made a significant seizure of Rs 1 crore from a vehicle following the convoy of Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma in Longding district.

The incident occurred as the Meghalaya Chief Minister embarked on a four-day visit to various locations in Arunachal Pradesh, including Longding, Tezu, and Basar.

According to Longding’s Superintendent of Police, Dekio Gumja, the cash was discovered during a routine check at the Kanubari check post around 3:30 pm.

Scheduled for April 19 and 26, concerns have been raised about security, particularly in the Outer Manipur constituency, where polling will occur on both days.

In their petition submitted on April 1, the DMCC cited various reasons for the proposed delay, including escalating conflict and law enforcement challenges, supported by media reports documenting the unrest.

Comprising organizations like the Delhi Meetei Forum (DMF), Delhi Meitei, Liklam Ngakpa, Sanamahi Laining, Eramdam Manipur, and the International Meetei Organisation, the DMCC highlighted the persistent ethnic violence in Manipur since May 3 of the preceding year, causing extensive physical, psychological, economic, and political harm to the populace.

The DMCC’s petition revealed to the media on Wednesday, coincided with a visit from an Election Commission team to Imphal to assess the state’s readiness for the polls.

While senior state officials assured the EC team of their preparedness, the team also conducted field inspections.

This marks the second petition dismissed by the High Court seeking Kejriwal’s removal as CM. The court advised the petitioner to approach constitutional authorities, emphasizing that Kejriwal’s continuation in office was a matter of personal choice.

Vishnu Gupta, the petitioner and national president of the Hindu Sena, withdrew the plea and expressed intentions to present his case before the Lieutenant Governor instead.

The petitioner’s counsel argued that Kejriwal’s arrest on March 21 led to a governance vacuum in the capital city.
